Fred Skaggs

Fred M. Skaggs is a native Houstonian who graduated from Bellaire High School. He attended San Jacinto College and the University of Houston with a major in Business Administration and Marketing. He began his real estate career in 1983 as a Property Manager and Leasing Agent for a local Real Estate Investor.

Mr. Skaggs is a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser as recognized by the Texas Real Estate Appraiser Certification Committee and the Texas Real Estate Commission having provided satisfactory evidence of the qualifications required by section 22 of the Real Estate License Act (Article 6573a, V.T.C.S.) and of chapter 5~4 of the Rules of the Texas Real Estate Commission. Mr. Skaggs certification number is TX-1326215-R. Mr. Skaggs worked for DSM Properties as Property Manager from 1983 to 1984. Mr. Skaggs worked for Compass Property Management as Houston Regional Manager from 1984 to 1987. Mr. Skaggs worked for the Houston Sports Association in the Accounting Department from 1988 to 1989. Mr. Skaggs worked for Rosemark Commercial Real Estate Service as a Houston Regional Leasing Agent from 1990 to 1992. Mr. Skaggs worked for First Houston Appraisal as a Certified Appraiser from 1993 to 1998. Mr. Skaggs worked for Houston SW Appraisal as Principal Appraiser from 1998 to 2009. In 2009, Mr. Skaggs began working with David Brooks & Associates, Inc. With over nineteen years of appraisal experience, combined with his being a native Houstonian, Mr. Skaggs brings his extensive knowledge of Southwest Houston as well as Fort Bend and Brazoria County to the firm.

Mr. Skaggs’ primary responsibilities are appraising one-to-four family dwellings and vacant land for individuals, institutional investors, mortgage companies and national relocation companies. These appraisals covered the entire range of purposes and property types from modest single family starter homes to residences in excess of a million dollars.
